The following Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the BRC HOBBIES website and services. Please check back regularly to see if there have been any changes. By using our website and services you acknowledge and agree that you have read, understand and accept our terms and conditions as stated below.
Although due care has been taken in compiling the contents of our website and other sales and promotional material, BRC HOBBIES accepts no liability in respect of any errors, omission or inaccuracies contained or referred to therein. All listed information is, to the best of our knowledge, correct at the date of issue. BRC HOBBIES provides this content in good faith but no warranty or representation is given that the content is accurate, complete or up to date. This is particularly true of prices which are subject to unexpected fluctuations in currency exchange rates.
Use of content on the Website and other sales and promotional material is at your own risk. While BRC HOBBIES takes reasonable precautions to prevent computer viruses and other malicious programs on the Website, no liability is accepted for them.
Any intellectual property rights in the content of our website and other sales and promotional material are owned by BRC HOBBIES. You are permitted to download and print content from the website and copy printed material solely for your own personal use. The website and printed material content must not be copied or reproduced, used or otherwise dealt with for any other reason. You are not entitled to modify or redistribute the content of BRC HOBBIES printed material. You are not entitled to modify or redistribute the BRC HOBBIES website or link, frame or deep-link it on any other website without the express written permission of BRC HOBBIES.
We reserve the right to change our Terms and Conditions, information, descriptions, pricing and specifications at any time. Weights, sizes and performance data are approximate. Please phone or check the web site listings for new items, item availability and current prices.
Purchases - You can buy on-line immediately with your credit or debit card via the secure PayPal system. NOTE - You do not have to open a PayPal account to buy on-line with your credit or debit card. Purchases may also be made by telephone, or in person in our retail shop. If buying via mail order, please telephone to confirm prices and to obtain a quote for shipping BEFORE sending an order.

BRC HOBBIES Retail Shop - We have a large retail outlet full of kits and model aircraft items primarily associated with electric flight. We also stock model engine fuels for collection only.
Retail Shop Opening Hours - 9.00am - 5.00pm Mon-Fri (Shop closed Bank Holidays and some Fridays when we are attending shows).

Shipping - Quoted delivery charges are for shipping WITHIN THE UK ONLY. International shipping charges will require you to pay a surcharge to cover the extra costs and insurance. Please refer to our shipping tables by clicking on the link at the bottom of our home page for International Shipping BEFORE placing your order. To ensure your parcel is protected against loss or damage we send virtually all orders by Royal Mail using the 'Signed For' or 'Special Delivery' (signature required) services. Small items are shipped in bubble-wrap bags or boxes. Kits are sent using our courier service, which ensures adequate insurance for loss or damage. We endeavour to process all orders within 1 business day whenever possible but it is not always possible to achieve this target - so please allow 3 business days before contacting us to check the status of your order. If you have any special delivery requirements please let us know.
Postal Charges - Our web site Checkout system adds the appropriate postage for the item(s) in your basket using the latest Royal Mail tariffs plus a modest handling and packaging charge.
Telephone Payments - We accept all major credit and debit cards except Amex.
On-Line Payments - All on-line transactions are via a SECURE SSL SERVER using the secure PayPal system, and are then processed manually. Confirmation of your transaction will be sent by e-mail from from our web server. You can pay instantly and securely with your credit or debit card through the on-line PayPal system. If you do not hold a PayPal account you can still pay via your credit or debit card, however this may be sent to us as an E-CHEQUE and as such takes 7-10 days to clear. We will ship items as soon as payment clears.
PayPal Orders Shipping Address - IMPORTANT: We can only ship to the address given on your PayPal account. Please ensure your PayPal details are correct before you place the order. We cannot be held responsible for non-delivered items due to incorrect address details i.e. moved house, changed name etc.
VAT: Taxable items have VAT added at the current prevailing UK rate.
Liability - BRC HOBBIES accepts no liability for any losses or claims arising from links to other sites or forums, or infection by viruses or anything else that has contaminating or destructive properties. BRC HOBBIES does not accept liability for any indirect loss or consequential loss of any data, income, profit, or damage to property and/or loss from claims of third parties arising from the use of the website or any item purchased from it. BRC HOBBIES will only be liable for the direct loss up to a maximum total price of the item purchased in respect of any claim.
Out-of-Stock Items - Our on-line purchase system provides an indication of stock levels. While we endeavour to maintain adequate stock levels, we do from time to time experience unexpected demand and consequently, purchases sometimes exceed stock held. We regret that we cannot always provide exact delivery dates on out-of-stock items but we will endeavour to keep you informed and send your item(s) as soon as stock arrives. Alternatively, we may if possible offer a comparable alternative if re-stocking timescales are protracted.
Your Rights - Customers from the European Union are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive [Statutory Instrument 2000 No. 2334 The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000] which can be found at
Returns - Authorisation - If you intend to return any item to us for any reason, before doing so and within 7 working days of receipt of the item, you or your representative must contact us first by telephone (not e-mail) to obtain instructions and a Returns Authorisation. We will require you to provide proof that the item was purchased from us. We will NOT accept or deal with any item returned without prior authorisation.
Authorised Returns - Refunds - If the item purchased does not meet your requirements and/or expectations and you require a refund, you must ensure that the item is sent back to us in the original packaging and in its original condition so that we can offer it for re-sale. We will not accept any item that has been opened, damaged, modified or mishandled in any way. We will not charge a re-stocking fee. We will not be liable for your return postal costs.
Authorised Returns - Faulty Items - In the unlikely event of you receiving a faulty item, we will attempt to resolve the problem when you phone for a Returns Authorisation. Many of our reported problems are due to incorrect installation, assembly and wiring, inexperience, and failure to read and understand instructions/user manuals. You should ensure that you have made the necessary checks to identify the actual faulty component. Unfortunately we continue to receive reports of suspected faulty motors and electronic speed controllers where the fault is due to insufficient electrical contact due to poor soldering or the use of incorrect connectors. Electronic Speed Controllers which have had wires cut or shortened or the receiver plug cut or removed will not be warranted. If the item is faulty, we reserve the right to either exchange it or refund the cost. Please be aware that while we endeavour to resolve problems quickly, we are obliged to return some items to our suppliers for technical examination. This may lead to delays in resolving the problem.
Please remember that ultimately, you are responsible for the integrity and correct assembly and/or operation of your equipment including the structural integrity of any model in which the components are installed. We cannot and will not provide compensation for consequential accidental loss resulting from crash damage. Remember that we can only offer advice and technical support on those items supplied by us. Please do not ask for support for items purchased elsewhere.
VERY IMPORTANT - If any item is returned to us as faulty and subsequently found NOT to be defective or has been damaged as a direct result of using incorrect assembly, misuse, poor maintenance or in the case of failed motors and Electronic Speed Controllers, or the use of an inappropriate propeller size, a workshop surcharge of 10GBP will be incurred, together with the cost of return postage. Items found not to be faulty will NOT be returned to the customer until the surcharge payment has been received.
Returns - All returns - If any item is required to be returned to us, you - the customer - MUST ensure sufficient postage is paid. BRC HOBBIES does not accept liability for items lost in transit. We cannot collect parcels which have been left at a delivery office due to the customer not paying enough postage. Such parcels may be returned to the sender unopened. Any items returned to us with insufficient postage fees will not be dealt with until we are reimbursed with the correct postage.
Please note that you are responsible for ensuring that items are returned to us (address above) safely. We recommend sending items valued up to 80GBP by 1st Class Recorded Signed For post or by Special Delivery if items are valued over 80GBP.
Returns - IMPORTANT - Special conditions relating to Lithium Batteries - Our Lithium battery packs undergo strict quality assurance checks during each stage of the manufacturing process to ensure consistency in reliability and performance. When the stock arrives in our warehouse we check each pack individually. We check the pack again at the point of sale. Lithium battery packs used for electric flight or other hobby applications are widely regarded as consumables and as such have a limited warranty. We cannot and do not offer any warranty on packs which have been modified or misused in any way - this includes removing or replacing any factory fitted power connector. We require you - the purchaser - to check each pack on receipt. If you suspect that you have a faulty battery pack, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE IT. Instead, you should contact our returns department within 48 hours of receipt for advice. If you DO NOT agree with these terms please return battery for a full refund BEFORE USE.
Returns - IMPORTANT - Special conditions relating to hardware modifications and firmware updates - We are unable to provide support to users who modify or carry out a firmware update or hardware modification to any electronic device - including transmitters and receivers - supplied by us. We are unable to uphold any claim under warranty should a fault arise due to a user installed firmware upgrade or hardware modification.
Privacy - Newsletter - From time to time we may send you an e-mail with special offers or news about new items or developments. We will add your e-mail address to our database but will NOT share this information with ANY third party. You can remove your e-mail address from our database at any time via the website unsubscribe facility.
Privacy - Customer account details - When you create an account via our web site we will store your details including any name, address(es) and telephone number(s) you provide in our customer database. We will NOT share this information with ANY third party. Please note that for reasons of security we do not store credit or debit card details within your account record.
